Terms and house rules

Terms and house rules

The agreement between the club and its members, and the few rules that keep the table pleasant.

Draft, pending legal review. These terms are not yet in force and no membership is offered on them. Text in shaded brackets is still to be confirmed.

Version: draft 0.1, dated 24 October 2026.

Terms of membership

1. The club

Monacano is run by [Association details to be confirmed: name, legal form, registered office, registration number] (“the club”). These terms form the agreement between the club and each member.

2. Eligibility

Membership is for adults whose main home is in Monaco, of any nationality. [Eligibility rules, including any category for people who live here part of the year, to be confirmed]

3. Applications

Anyone may apply through the form on this site. Applications may need an invitation code or the support of a current member. [Number of sponsoring members to be confirmed] The club may decline an application without giving reasons. Applying creates no obligation for either side.

Residency is checked by a host seeing the applicant's resident card or Monégasque identity card in person. The club records only that the document was seen, by whom and on what date.

4. Fees and payment

[Fees, tiers, joining fee and size cap to be announced] No fee is payable until the club has been formed and has its own bank account. Card details are never collected on this site. Payments will only be taken through a hosted page run by a regulated payment provider or by bank transfer. [Payment methods to be confirmed]

5. Term, renewal and leaving

Membership runs for one year. [Renewal, reminders and automatic renewal rules to be confirmed] Members may resign at any time. [Refund and withdrawal rights, including any 14 day withdrawal period, to be confirmed by legal review]

6. Events

Events take place in restaurants, venues and members' homes. Venues are responsible for what they sell and serve, including any alcohol. The club does not sell alcohol and does not run games of chance, raffles or lotteries. [Event booking, cancellation and guest rules to be confirmed]

[Liability limits for events run by third party venues to be drafted in legal review]

7. Partners

[Any partner arrangements, and a disclosure of any interest a founder or host has in a partner, to be confirmed. Any such interest will be stated here plainly.]

8. Suspension and removal

If a member breaks the house rules, the club will first have a quiet word, then give a written warning, and only then consider suspension or removal. Suspension or removal is decided by two admins, and the member has the right to reply before a decision is made.

9. Personal data

The privacy notice explains how personal data is handled.

10. Changes

The club may change these terms with reasonable notice to members by email. [Notice period to be confirmed]

11. Law and courts

These terms are governed by the law of the Principality of Monaco, and the courts of Monaco have jurisdiction. [Consumer protections for members living in the EU to be confirmed by legal review]

House rules

  5. No harassment or discrimination. Concerns can be raised in confidence with [two named admins to be confirmed].
  6. Personal membership. Membership cannot be transferred or shared.
  7. Breaches. Handled as set out in section 8 of the terms: a quiet word, a written warning, then suspension or removal by two admins, with a right to reply.
